Hoover Ridge Wool and Wine Festival 2021
Madison County Parks and Recreation Authority is hosting the fifth annual Wool and Wine Festival in Madison County on Saturday, April 24, 2021, from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM. The festival will be in conjunction with the annual sheepdog trials.
We will be showcasing local wineries including Mountain Run Winery, Prince Michel Vineyards, DuCard Vineyards, Blue Quartz Winery, and more! We will also have local food vendor Over the Top Chef on site.
Cheap Whiskey will provide live entertainment from 1:30-4:30 PM.
Tickets are $15 presale (ends Sunday, April 18) and $20 the day of the event. Due to the limited number of attendees, all guests must have a ticket. Guests under age 12 are free, with Adult General Admission tickets available for $5.00. General Admission tickets do not allow tastings or the purchase of any wine.
Picnic tables are available for reservation for $10 each. Guests may also reserve a 10×10 square for seating (free).
The event will be held rain or shine.
Full Event Schedule:
-8:00 AM – Sheepdog Trials Begin (free)
-11:30 AM – Festival Area Opens, Food Vendors Open
-12:00 PM – Wine Tasting Begins
-1:30 PM – 4:30 PM – Live Music by Cheap Whiskey
-4:30 PM – Wine Tastings End
-5:00 PM – All Vendor Events End
COVID-19 Protocols
-Wine tastings will be available from each wine tent. Guests will select their 1 oz. pours and take them on a disposable tray back to their seats. There will be no keepsake tasting glasses for guests this year.
-Wine will be available for free tastings, or guests may pay by the glass or bottle.
-Guests will be required to wear face coverings while they are in the festival area. They may remove their masks when they are at their table or seating area.
-Hand sanitizer will be available at every winery tent and at the festival entrance and restroom. A hand-washing station will be available near the restroom.
-A limited number of tickets will be available at the gate.
-The safety of our guests is our top priority. All guests must adhere to the COVID-19 protocols or be asked to leave.
FAQs
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
Guests wishing to taste wine or purchase wine must be over 21 and show a valid ID. These guests must have their wrist band while in the festival area.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There will be designated parking areas for guests. Handicapped parking will be available.
What can I bring to the event?
We will have picnic tables available for reservation ($10 by 4/23 with ticket sales), but you may bring your own chairs, blankets, and tables. Pop-up tents permitted along the fenceline in designated areas. Outside food and drink are NOT permitted.
**No pets are permitted at the festival. This is for the safety of the animals (sheep) on-site for the trials.
