The Madison County Historical Society is a non-profit organization founded and operated for the perpetuation and preservation of Madison County heritage and traditions. The mission of the Society is to record, preserve, and stimulate interest in the history of Madison County, its families, occupations and way of life.
The Society maintains two buildings in the town of Madison. The Kemper residence is the former home of civil war General Kemper and functions as the Society museum and and is used for special occasions. It is open a few days a week. The Arcade Building houses items of historical interest of the County and special exhibits. See the facilities tab for more information about these buildings.
