Barn Quilt Workshop, Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 10 AM – 4 PM
at Hebron Lutheran Church
Vyvyan Rundgren will teach how to make a barn quilt. Barn quilts are painted quilt-like designs on plywood and can be displayed on barns, sheds, fences, or on stakes in. your yard. Go to http://www.artguildofgreene.org/winter-spring-2019-classes/ and click on the Barn Quilt Workshop link to find the registration information and form. Class price depends on the size of the quilt.
Search the Internet for barn quilt trails in Greene, Highland, and Craig Counties in Virginia to see what we would like to do for Madison. I got your email addresses from the workshop you attended with Vyvyan Rundgren (and she has been a great encourager).
The Madison County Tourism Office will pay for the first brochure printing, so is a project of that office. I am volunteering my time (along with my daughters) to get it set up and started.
Attached are an informational letter about Barn Quilt Trails, and a registration form to be returned to the Madison Tourism office. If you are willing for your Barn Quilt to be listed on a map of Madison and printed on a brochure, then please complete the registration form. If your Barn Quilt cannot be seen from the road, you would also need to give permission for folks to drive onto your property to view it (and we completely understand that you may not want that; I wouldn’t). Please use a separate registration form per barn quilt that is actually hung or displayed, so that we will capture them all. If you have any questions please contact me at [email protected] or 540-923-4692.
