Lions Leader Dog Program to be Highlighted
If you or a family member are interested in learning more about the Lions sponsored Leader Dog Program this is your chance to hear a Leader Dog Lions District Chairman speak on what is involved. The fully trained dogs are available at no cost to visually impaired persons who meet the requirements, are willing to undergo the necessary training, and are able to manage the dog. The program also sponsors white cane training for those needing that assistance.
The program will be presented at the October 15th meeting of the Madison County Lions club to be held at the George James Community Center, Radiant, VA. The group gathers for a social period at 6:30 and the meeting begins at 7:00 PM. Lions are a community service organization with a focus on sight and hearing issues. Membership is open to anyone having an interest in community service. The public is invited to join us for a meal charge of $15 per person that will be forgiven for any visitor choosing to become a member of the club. For reservations contact Ken McGhee at 948-4754 by October 12th.
