The Odd Fellows Lodge, constructed circa 1890 by eleven formerly enslaved African Americans, stands proudly at the southwest end of Main Street. This historic site was home to a prominent African American fraternal organization dedicated to fostering brotherhood and uplifting their community through mutual aid and support. The Lodge now houses the Madison County African American Historical Association, which continues to follow in the Odd Fellow’s footsteps by upholding their mission of community support and historic preservation.
