DuCard Vineyards is an authentic  boutique winery, growing its own grapes and making its own wines onsite, to enjoy and purchase solely at our gorgeous mountainside tasting room bordering the Shenandoah National Park.  White Oak Canyon and Old Rag Mountain trails are around the corner.

DuCard grows 20 acres of French vinifera and native Virginia varieties, all meticulously nurtured and tended by hand.  Located at an elevation of 1,000 feet, on picturesque slopes in the shadow of the Blue Ridge mountains. Our grapes reflect the rocky soils and rugged landscape of Madison County, Virginia and yield wines of unique character and complexity.  We are a psychological and wine-o-logical getaway from the real world.

We have received gold medals for red, white and dessert wines, one of only a handful of VA wineries to do so, and recently (2022) was awarded the OMNI Homestead Norton Cup for the top scoring Norton varietal wine in Virginia. We have been named the greenest winery in Virginia on multiple occasions for our sustainability practices – which include electric charging stations for both Tesla and other models (no charge for charging). DuCard is also the top rated winery in the Central Virginia area for customer service on Trip Advisor.

We are open for wine flights (in crystal glassware, served at your table) and bottle sales 12-5pm Monday through Thursday and 12-6pm Friday-Sunday.  In summer season we are open until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We also offer vineyard tours for small groups, with a unique focus on the viticulture practices we use in growing the grapes; advance arrangements needed.  DuCard is dog friendly and kid friendly, you are welcome to bring your own picnics, but we have a nice selection of food available.  100% handicapped accessible.  Reservations are not required, but are available through our website.
